Today’s Guest Curator is singer and guitarist Melissa McClelland, (pictured top, left) of husband-and-wife rock outfit Whitehorse. The Juno Award-winning duo recently performed a one-hour concert that live streamed from their living room. (You can watch the archived video on Facebook.) McClelland has a few more recommendations for Canadian content for you to enjoy from your own homes.
Wynonna Earp is a show recommended by my best friend, Mavreen. This is a kitschy, female-driven, supernatural western with a rabid cult following, now in its third season. It’s based on an American comic book but steeped in Canadiana, and stars Ottawa's Melanie Neige Scrofano. It's the first thing on my “to watch” list while I’m sequestered at home. — Melissa McClelland

Coffee with my Ma (podcast)
My next recommendation came from Lisa Prinn of the Downie Wenjack Foundation, after we travelled to Attawapiskat and other Indigenous communities in Northern Ontario. Coffee with my Ma is a podcast by Kaniehtiio Horn that just finished its first season. Horn brings us stories from her mother, Kahn-Tineta Horn, a former model in the 1960’s and Mohawk rights activist. — MM
Snow Cat (23 minutes) I’ll also be watching the beautiful and dreamy short animated film Snow Cat on the NFB website. This is a perfect pre-bedtime show for us and our 5-year-old son to watch in our PJs. Honestly, I'll probably devour the entire NFB catalogue after he goes to sleep. — MM
