The Conversation Piece (podcast)

For the past seven years, The Walrus has hosted The Walrus Talks across the country. It's a national event series that sparks conversations on important issues like impact, technology, and the environment. The format is about sevens: seven thought leaders, seven minutes each, seven different perspectives on a single topic. We've launched a new podcast highlighting insights from these talks, worth thinking about in these COVID-19 times. You can listen to The Conversation Piece wherever you get your podcasts, or online right here. — Jennifer Hollett

Jazzcast.ca (online radio)

I'm finding myself craving art and music in new and deeper ways these days, and I love starting my week with this new online jazz station. In particular, Garvia Bailey's show Social Music (Monday mornings, 9 to 11 ET) is a fusion of jazz, hip hop, funk, you name it. The show highlights jazz as social commentary and a reflection of the world, and Garvia is an incredible guide and storyteller. I love rediscovering tracks as well as being introduced to new music, right on my computer. — JH

The Other Latif (podcast)

This is one of those podcasts people talk about in a certain way. They say things like, "THIS PODCAST!!!" And, "I CAN'T STOP LISTENING!" That's because it's an epic story. Canadian Latif Nasser sets out to track down another Latif Nasser — one who happens to be detainee 244 at Guantanamo Bay. This turns into a multi-year obsession, investigation, and now a six-part podcast series asking the question, who is The Other Latif? I've just started listening, so no spoilers please. — JH
