Measures English-speaking Canadians’ confidence in the ability of various broadcasters to protect Canadian identity
Overview
COMPAS polled 1,000 Canadians to gauge the English-speaking public’s confidence in the Canadian broadcasting system. Major findings include:
- The CBC, private broadcasters and the CRTC inspire more public trust than do such groups as federal and provincial governments and cable companies.
The CBC is considered more balanced than private broadcasters; of the private conventional networks, CTV seen as more balanced and more committed to Canadian content than Global is.
