Measures public confidence in the CRTC and the broadcasting system
Overview
COMPAS polled 1,000 Canadians to measure public confidence in the CRTC and the broadcasting system. Major findings include:
- Canadians support each of the CRTC’s seven stated goals; of those goals, protecting consumer prices and fostering free speech and democracy were considered the most important
- Canadians see the CRTC goals as falling into three categories: protecting Canadian identity, ensuring competition, and financial motivations.
- Canadians perceive the CRTC as fulfilling a need in Canada today
