TORONTO, SEPTEMBER 8, 2020: Submissions are now open for the 2021 Dalton Camp Award. The annual prize, presented by FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting, awards $10,000 for the best essay on the subject of media and democracy.

The Dalton Camp Award was created in 2002 to honour the memory of Dalton Camp, a distinguished commentator on Canadian public affairs. In 2020, FRIENDS introduced a second prize of $2,500 for the best essay by a student journalist.

Winners are chosen by a seven-member jury. This year’s jury is Michael Barclay, Candis Callison, Kathy English, Jane Hilderman, Omar Mouallem, Hannah Sung and Radiyah Chowdhury, winner of the 2020 Dalton Camp Award.

Submission Deadline: Thursday, December 1, 2020 (midnight EDT).
